North Texas DBT Associates offers after-hours therapy by telehealth for night owls, early birds and shift workers in Texas and Florida. Late night therapy and early morning therapy sessions take place before most practices open, with Courtney Hicks, MS, LMFT-Supervisor, a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician™. If you have been looking for an after-hours therapist, you can get the same Comprehensive DBT offered during the day, or a trauma-informed integrative approach tailored to your needs, incorporating DBT, Brainspotting, CBT, Prolonged Exposure (PE) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), at a time that fits into your schedule.
Late night therapy and early morning therapy sessions
Most therapists work a standard daytime schedule. If your day starts at midnight or ends at dawn, a 2pm appointment can mean losing sleep, leaving work early or giving up on therapy altogether. After-hours therapy sessions run in the late night and early morning so you can see a therapist when you are actually awake and have the space to focus.

Night shift therapy for shift workers, night owls and early birds
After-hours therapy is built for people whose schedules do not fit a 9 to 5 appointment book, including:
- Night shift and third-shift workers, such as nurses, doctors, first responders, dispatchers, security, warehouse, manufacturing, transportation and hospitality staff.
- Night owls who are at their clearest late at night and in the early hours.
- Early birds who want an early morning therapy session before work, school runs or other commitments.
- Rotating and split-shift workers whose schedule changes week to week.
- Caregivers and people working more than one job, whose daytime is already full.
Working nights can put real strain on sleep, relationships and mood, and it is often harder to find support when you need it. Therapy for night shift workers that fits your hours removes one of the biggest barriers to getting help.
After-hours therapy services
After-hours sessions follow the same clinical standards as every other session at North Texas DBT Associates, delivered by our Clinical Director, Courtney Hicks. Services range from Comprehensive DBT to trauma-informed therapy.
After-hours DBT therapy online
North Texas DBT Associates provides Comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan. Comprehensive DBT combines individual therapy, DBT skills training, between-session phone coaching and a clinician consultation team. It is an evidence-based treatment for intense emotions, impulsive behavior, self-harm and chronic suicidal thoughts. While individual DBT sessions can take place after hours, clients seeking comprehensive DBT would still need to be able to attend skills classes during the day or early evening. Read why adherence and fidelity matter in Comprehensive DBT. Unlike during standard business hours, Ms. Hicks also offers DBT-informed therapy in after hours session times for those who are interested in the DBT approach but who do not have a clinical need for the full comprehensive model.
Trauma-informed therapy after hours
Trauma-informed therapy recognizes how past experiences shape the way you think, feel and react today. It keeps safety, choice and collaboration at the center of treatment, which matters for anyone whose work exposes them to stressful or traumatic events, including many night shift workers and first responders.
After-hours CBT and other evidence-based therapy
Not everyone needs Comprehensive DBT. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based treatments are also available as after-hours online therapy. Courtney will recommend the approach that best matches your goals.
