Courtney Hicks, MS, LMFT-Supervisor, DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician™

Co-Founder

Ms. Hicks is one of just four DBT-Linehan Board Certified Clinicians in North Texas, one of just a handful in Texas, and one of fewer than 450 in the world. She received her Master of Science in Counseling at Southern Methodist University. She completed her graduate internship in the child and adolescent unit at Timberlawn Mental Health Services. She then worked as a Quality Training Supervisor at Adapt Community Solutions and later as an Inpatient Treatment Manager in both the adult and adolescent units at Green Oaks Hospital. After finding inpatient treatment to be ineffective in maintaining long-term results, Ms. Hicks sought out training in DBT to be more effective in helping clients rediscover a life worth living. She completed her Intensive Training in DBT through Behavioral Tech and has been working in private practice providing comprehensive DBT since. She also offers DBT Prolonged Exposure Protocol for PTSD (DBT-PE), DBT Prolonged Exposure Protocol for PTSD for Adolescents (DBT-PE-A), DBT-PTSD for Complex PTSD, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia and incorporates Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for patients with Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Courtney is also certified in Brainspotting, which she integrates into her DBT practice to help clients access the subcortical brain and increase nervous system regulation.
