Courtney Hicks, MS, LMFT-Supervisor, DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician™

Co-Founder

Ms. Hicks is one of just four DBT-Linehan Board Certified Clinicians in North Texas, one of just a handful of DBT Therapists in Texas certified to this level, and one of fewer than 450 in the world. She received her Master of Science in Counseling at Southern Methodist University. After completing her graduate internship in the child and adolescent unit at Timberlawn Mental Health Services she worked as a Quality Training Supervisor at Adapt Community Solutions, and later as an Inpatient Treatment Manager in both the adult and adolescent units at Green Oaks Hospital.

After finding inpatient treatment to be ineffective in maintaining long-term results, Ms. Hicks sought out training in DBT to be more effective in helping clients rediscover a life worth living. She completed her Intensive Training in DBT through Behavioral Tech and has been working in private practice providing comprehensive DBT since. She also offers DBT Prolonged Exposure Protocol for PTSD (DBT-PE), DBT Prolonged Exposure Protocol for PTSD for Adolescents (DBT-PE-A), DBT-PTSD for Complex PTSD, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia and incorporates Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for patients with Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Courtney is also certified in Brainspotting, which she integrates into her DBT practice to help clients access the subcortical brain and increase nervous system regulation. Courtney also serves as a mentor in the DBT-LBC mentorship program helping clinicians seeking DBT-LBC certification through the certification process.

Whitney Lee, MS, LMFT

Whitney Lee, LMFT

Individual DBT Therapist and Skills Trainer

Whitney graduated with a Master of Science in Counseling from Southern Methodist University. After completing her graduate internship in the child and adolescent unit at Timberlawn Mental Health Services, she worked as a geriatric inpatient therapist at Hickory Trail Hospital. She then went on to work as quality training supervisor at Adapt Community Solutions and later as an inpatient treatment manager at Green Oaks Hospital. She has also worked with criminal justice-involved clients and at various non-profit and community mental health organizations. While working in these settings, she developed a desire to help people achieve long-term goals instead of serving individuals on just a short-term basis. Through her experiences, she learned people have an innate desire to connect with others in a healthy, meaningful way and are more capable and resilient than they may think. Whitney has completed Foundational Training through Behavioral Tech.

Alana McCraw, MA, LPC

Alana McCraw, MA, LPC

Group Therapist

Alana completed her undergraduate education at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY, double majoring in Psychology and Religion. Upon graduating, she returned to Texas to work as a Medical Assistant and Scribe at Cardiology Partners. While supporting individuals with managing their physical health, it became apparent to her that mental health is often severely neglected. She decided to return to graduate school to study counseling in hopes of joining the fight for improved access to mental health services. She obtained her Master of Arts degree for Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling at Naropa University in Boulder, CO. After graduating, Alana worked with the Lifeologie teams in Dallas and Fort Worth; there she found a special passion for working with individuals struggling with eating disorders and their families. Alana then decided to pursue training in DBT, which is an evidence-based treatment that provides a multi-faceted approach to the treatment of disordered eating. Alana is also currently pursuing her certification in Somatic Experiencing® which is a body-based approach to trauma treatment developed by Dr. Peter Levine to more effectively assist those struggling with trauma.
