Individual DBT Therapist (Adult program only) and Skills Trainer

Alana completed her undergraduate education at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY, double majoring in Psychology and Religion. Upon graduating, she returned to Texas to work as a Medical Assistant and Scribe at Cardiology Partners. While supporting individuals with managing their physical health, it became apparent to her that mental health is often severely neglected. She decided to return to graduate school to study counseling in hopes of joining the fight for improved access to mental health services. She obtained her Master of Arts degree for Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling at Naropa University in Boulder, CO. After graduating, Alana worked with the Lifeologie teams in Dallas and Fort Worth; there she found a special passion for working with individuals struggling with eating disorders and their families. Alana then decided to pursue training in DBT, which is an evidence-based treatment that provides a multi-faceted approach to the treatment of disordered eating. Alana is also currently pursuing her certification in Somatic Experiencing® which is a body-based approach to trauma treatment developed by Dr. Peter Levine to more effectively assist those struggling with trauma.
